Lumavu

Help with Lumavu

For Lumavu on iPhone, iPhone Duo, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.

Getting started

  1. Add a playlist. Open Lumavu and choose Add playlist. Pick Xtream Codes, M3U (a link or a file), Jellyfin or Emby, and fill in the details your provider gave you.
  2. Give it a name, a colour and an icon. They show in the sidebar, which helps once you have more than one.
  3. Add a guide if you need one. Xtream accounts usually bring their own. For M3U playlists, add the XMLTV link your provider gives you, in the playlist's settings.
  4. No playlist yet? Choose Try sample movies and series or Add free news channels on the first screen to have a look around.

Common questions

Does Lumavu come with channels?

No. Lumavu is a player for your own playlists and servers. We don't sell or recommend playlists.

A channel won't play. What can I try?

If the channel has more than one copy in your playlists, Lumavu moves to another copy by itself. You can also open the player's ⋯ menu and switch to the other video player, or choose a different copy. In Settings, under Video player, you can set which player Lumavu uses. If nothing plays at all, check the account is active in the playlist's details, where Lumavu shows its expiry date and how many streams it allows.

Why does a Multiview tile say the account is full?

Each tile is its own stream, and most IPTV accounts allow only one or two at once. Lumavu plays a channel from another playlist if it has a free stream, and starts the waiting tile by itself when another tile closes.

Live subtitles aren't showing

Live subtitles need iOS, iPadOS, macOS or tvOS 26. The first time you pick a language, Lumavu asks to download it, and says on screen while it does. Apple TV writes subtitles but doesn't translate them.

Why can't I download this?

Live channels can't be downloaded, and nor can links that only come as HLS (.m3u8). Downloads are part of Lumavu Pro, and on iPhone and iPad they wait for Wi‑Fi unless you allow mobile data in Settings, under Downloads. A download steps aside while you watch something from the same account, then carries on.

Does recording carry on when I close the app?

No. Recordings run while Lumavu is open, on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Can I hide categories I never watch?

Yes. On any Live TV, Movies or Series page, open Choose categories. You can hide a whole language across Live TV, films and series in one tap, or a family of categories such as Sport, or single categories. You can also touch and hold a category to hide it.

My playlists aren't showing on my other devices

Check that iCloud sync is on in Lumavu's settings, under iCloud, on each device, and that they're all signed in to the same iCloud account. Playlists imported from a file stay on the device you imported them on, so if your provider gives you a link, add that instead.

How does Lumavu look on iPhone Duo?

With the phone closed, the outside screen shows the iPhone layout, with tabs along the bottom. Open it and the inside screen switches to the iPad layout, with your playlists in a sidebar. Anything that's playing carries on as you open or close it. It's the same app and the same purchase as on iPhone.

Does it work with Jellyfin and Emby live TV?

Not yet. Films and series from Jellyfin and Emby work today.

Is there Chromecast?

Not at the moment. AirPlay works from iPhone, iPad and Mac, for streams that play in Apple's player.

Lumavu Pro and purchases

How do I restore Pro on a new device?

Open Settings in Lumavu, choose Lumavu Pro at the top, then Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Can my family use Pro?

Yes. All the Pro plans work with Family Sharing.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
